I went to Brooklyn over the weekend to go thrift store shopping with Suah. However, I didn't get much :'( But I did have a lovely time at this thai restaurant. The interior was so nice! There was a nice big pond-ish structure in the middle of the restaurant as well as wooden swings and big bubble chairs. The food was quite nice, not spectacular but not horrific.
I also started recording a few outfit of the days this week, so stay tuned for that! (= The outfits have been winter with a few spring pieces just because the weather has been getting warmer. So excited for spring! (= Probably one of my favorite seasons along with fall.
Here, I'm wearing a black romper with pretty brass buttons. I paired it with a striped blazer from H&M.
Close up of the tights . These are from Nicole Miller
I love this blazer. But be careful! If you stare at it for too long, you might get a bit dizzy ;)
Today I had to go to school, on a day I wasn't supposed to. Spent my day taking my AP Psych midyear. So to match my mood I dressed in all black. Probably my go - to look whenever I don't know what to wear. Some say it's boring, but if you mix and match with different patterns and textures you can make it more interesting.
Here's a closer look : I actually found the gold brass button in the household button drawer. I love the vintage feel, and definitely makes the blazer look a bit more lavish
F21 reindeer necklace, H&M owl ring, OPI Malaysian Mist with some juvenile bows on the ring finger ;), Aldo Pearl Bracelet
So I finally managed to film another makeup tutorial. This time it was a Valentine's Day Inspired Look with pink and brown shadows.
I used my Coastal Scents 88 Matte Palette, my Lancome Cils Booster XL Mascara Base, Stila Lip Glaze in Candy, Loreal Telscopic Explosion Mascara, Benefit Eye Bright and the Loreal HIP Color Chrome Eyeliner.
Here's how it turned out -
I like this look because though there's pink in it, it's still quite wearable and appropriate for the day time. Since there was a lot of pink going on up in the eyes, I put a very minimal amount of pink on my face and lips, by just sticking to bronzer and a natural gloss color.
What makeup look do you want to see in my next video?
So if you haven't watched the Best friend / Boyfriend Tag video Julie and I posted a few weeks ago, here it is
It was so much fun to film! I think the original footage was around thirty minutes, but we cut it down to fourteen.
Our Friendship
I feel like there's a big misconception between me and julie's friendship. Not only on Youtube but in real life. Me and her do not hug, compliment each other, those typical "best friend" actions. Instead, we find it super awkward whenever we compliment each other and joke that this is not how we are normally. But that's just how we are. I feel like we're sisters. I typically tend to show affection to my friends, not my best friends. It's just like how I don't hug my sister and get all lovey dovey with her. I feel like Julie & I have gone past the "OMG FRIENDS FOREVER STAGE ILYSFM *HUG , *KISS ON THE CHEEK" stage and moved on to the "I've known you forever now, and I don't need to show affection in public for others to know that we're best friends" stage.
-am i making this sound like a love story?-
But anyways, there's no doubt that whether you personally know us or not, in public it's obvious that me and jules are best friends. No questions asked. That's what I love about our friendship.
So that's my two cents on julie and i's friendship.
On a lighter note, I've received a lot of questions on my hair and makeup in this video so here it is!
Makeup - It's actually quite easy. I think it was the lashes that gave the illusion of being "pretty." HAHA.
Face - Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NW20
Eyes- no eyeshadows, WetnWild Mega Liner (i don't really like it), eyelashes from Taiwan
Lips - Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout under Revlon Super Lustrous Lip gloss in Pink Pop
As for the hair, it was really simple. I just slept with my hair in braids, applied Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse, parted my hair in the middle, and took the front sections of my hair and twisted it and pinned it back.
haha, I probably made it sound harder than it was. But it was SO incredibly simple. Perhaps I might do a tutorial on it ?
